3/5/12 A Sunny Stretch.. Cold to start - Mild to finish

Cold Canadian high pressure will bring a touch of winter back into the Northeast for today and tomorrow. Expect temperatures to be below normal for these two days with highs only in the 30s and nighttime lows back into the teens.

A weak low pressure over Virginia is bringing light snows to that area of the country. This low will track south of Cape Cod today. A few thick clouds on the Cape may be expected as the low strengthens. For the Boston area, just a few passing clouds can be forecast.  A strong high over the central US will move east by Wednesday and the southwest winds will usher in Spring like temperatures into Thursday with highs reaching the 60s for most areas. A storm over southern California will bring the chance of rain and a cold front with it overnight Thursday into Friday morning.

Clockwise winds around High pressure will bring in mild air from the south on Wednesday and Thursday with high temperatures reaching the 60s for southern New England. A cold front will push through overnight on Thursday into early Friday morning and drop temperatures back to the 40s.   Mild weather returns late next weekend.
